A terrible forecast turned out to be better than expected, and thanks to the diligent effort from the RO (Glen Rumford) 1 race was completed.

Danish/Aussie Pro Jesper Vesterstrøm won by a country mile (literally) with Andrew Vacopoulos winning the Free Formula division.

Just 1 event left before we call it quits for another long winter…Luckily it is at the glamour locations of Huskisson, Jervis Bay 02-03March)….

New home for the yellow boat

New trailer for the yellow boat is in construction. It is being made but a fellow windsurfer from Lake Macquarie.

It will be ready in 2 weeks time.

Engine goes on the boat backwards which is very cool….all the buoys etc go inside the boat also, so all the weight is low and all the stuff covered in salt and sand is contained in the boat. There will be attachments for official flags and sponsor flags. Other equipment, like club board and rig etc can go in the trailer on racks that we can move around to suit.

The International Windsurfing Association (IWA) has requested two representatives from Australia, to compete in the Inaugural Beach Games to be held at the stunning location of Club Faru in the Maldives from 18th-25th September 2011.
The event is invitation only, and is to be raced on supplied and new Mistral One Design equipment.
The Australian Windsurfing Association (AWA) is pleased to announce that based on the 2011 Raceboard Oceanic Championship results, John Demol (1st ranked) and Benjamin Morrell (3rd ranked) will be representing Australia.
The AWA would also like to take this opportunity to wish James Grunfelder (2nd ranked) and the other Australian representatives the best of luck at the Raceboard Worlds, to be held at L’Hospitalet de l’lnfant, Tarragona, Spain, from 3rd-10th September 2011
